WEB SITE PROJECT 1 

DESCRIPTION

Use Notepad to create a two page web site about yourself.

On page one describe yourself, your background and your interests. Provide two links to other web sites that will help visitors understand more about your interests. On page two describe your employment, educational background and career objectives. The content is important. For this exercise, keep the content brief and concise: If someone visits your site for the first time, what ten important points should they know about you?

REQUIREMENTS

Storyboard

Create a storyboard of your site.

Style guide

Create a simple style guide describing the most basic elements: background colour, font, font colour, size etc.

Images

Include no more than three images on each page. Images are not to exceed 200 pixels on one side and 15Kb in size. Do not use animated GIF images. Use your own or royalty-free images.

Links

Use a consistent style for links to other sites [and other pages]. Provide a brief description of where the link will lead.

Titles

Include appropriate titles for each page

Tables

Employ simple tables to structure the page: maximum of two columns, not to exceed 600 pixels in width

DELIVERABLE

Save page one as me.htm and save page two as me2.htm

Upload your site to your server on Yahoo!/GeoCities.

ADVICE

Keep it simple. Follow the requirements. Use your time effectively. Plan the site before you build it. Create a template and build the pages from it. You will have an opportunity to explore and be creative in subsequent exercises. This task will be evaluated on its completeness, functionality and simplicity.
